It’s time to welcome spring by turning some new earth in the garden. The SLC’s AmeriCorps volunteer, Julia, is tending a plot in the Rees and Sumach Community Garden as part of our education and outreach efforts. It will serve as a learning space to help beginning gardeners answer the questions they need to get started.

Join us from 5:30 to 7:00 PM on April 18 for a first visit to the newly planted garden plot. This will be a question and answer session with planting demonstrations rather than a full-fledged workshop. Expect to learn about season-long garden planning, companion planting, and the basics of garden care and maintenance. We’ll answer your gardening questions and inspire you to grow your own summer harvest.

Beginning the week after this garden introduction, Julia will be available in the garden to answer your garden questions on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 4:30 PM.

All ages are welcome! Please register for this workshop athttps://slcceep.wufoo.com/forms/zmwb0bi0qvuibv/ or give us a call at (509) 524-5218. You may also contact Julia at acvolunteer@slcww.org with any questions.
