The 9th Annual Return to the River Salmon Festival is coming up!
On May 20th, the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) and the Water & Environmental Center (WEC) at Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) will be hosting this community event, celebrating the return of salmon to the Walla Walla River Basin.
Location: Walla Walla Community College-adjacent to the soccer fields along Tausick Way
Free Activities Include:
- Tethered hot air balloon rides from 12-2 pm (weather dependent)
- Children’s activities
- Educational booths
- Release of salmon into Mill Creek at 11:30 am & 1:30 pm
- Tribal dancers
WWCC’s Wine Country Food Truck offering lunch between 11 am – 3 pm, featuring salmon tacos, salmon chowder, burgers, chicken gyros & hot dogs.
